3. Map out a writing schedule for your project and stick to it.
Like everything else, sometimes you can lose your mojo when it comes to writing. Whether you’ve been looking at the same document for days on end or even at a blank computer screen, it’s hard to stay focused if you do not have a plan. I would love to be one of these “a book in a month” type writers, but I’m not. It takes me on average maybe 3-4 months to complete a novel, and I am completely fine with that. What helps me stay on track is having a plan! Of course, any plan you make isn’t going to be 100% full-proof, but it’s better than not having one at all. My schedules allow me to set word count goals for myself whether they be for the day, week, or month. This way, I’m not stressed out when my deadlines come.
