How to Become a Successful Writer - Tip #19

19. Take a 15-minute nap when your mind gets fuzzy.
If I could write 24/7, I would, but for all of us, that is unrealistic. I’ve tried to write when I was tired, and it doesn’t work for me. I find myself either writing the same line over and over again, or I just draw a blank altogether. Now, I wouldn’t recommend sleeping the day away, but we all need rest in order to be successful. Not only is it beneficial for our physical health, but it can also give you some clarity. So if you notice that your eyes are getting heavy or even crossing while you are writing, don’t be afraid to take a 15-minute break to get your mind right.
