How to Become a Dope Writer - Tip #24

April 25, 2016

24. Trick Yourself into Starting!

This is something I live by! Let’s be honest, as writers, there are some days that we just don't feel like writing, and that’s okay, but never stay in that space for too long. For me, I try to make my books at least 60,000 words. Anything above that, to me, is gravy. It can seem overwhelming to reach your word count goals whether they are daily, weekly, or even monthly, but a good trick to use is to commit to writing at least 15 minutes a day. This can be in the form of outlining, drafting, or even freewriting. 15 minutes doesn’t seem that daunting, so push yourself! It may just be the spark you need.
