48. Write down everything !

I cannot stress this tip enough. Even if you have the best memory in the world, it is key to jot down notes when you can. That way, you always have something to refer back to, whether it be a scene/character description, dialogue, etc. Sometimes, my characters will speak to me at night or while I am in the middle of something, so I can't really write it out like I would like to. To remedy this, I always keep notepads around me and jot down reminders to myself, which allows me to come back to it later without missing a beat!
